The Pasulka case just gets worse and worse. See what he said during trial and sentencing. Purely disgusting

from a court observer:

know it has been a week since Pasulka’s sentencing.  So here is an update and some details from the sentencing hearing.

Pasulka has been transferred from Cook County Jail to Stateville Prison. Personally, I rather he sit in jail.

What Pasulka’s Attorney Had To Say:

The constant theme from Pasulka’s attorney was that all the victims were adults and well educated.  Without saying it, Pasulka’s attorney was trying to shift the blame that the assault was their fault because they should have known better.  And since the victims have successful careers, their success can be attributed to Pasulka (at least for the victims who were lawyers and worked for him).  But wait, it gets even more offensive.  Since this was a single case, and Pasulka was found guilty of a single offense, Pasulka’s attorney hammered it home at least three times “1 victim. 1 finger. 1 vagina.” Like it was no big deal. There was no physical harm, just emotional so it doesn’t count.  (Remember, this is what his attorney is saying, not me.) 1 minor incident in the life a wonderful person should not determine sentencing. (I’m saying: I hope Pasulka faces 1 big p**** up his a****** while in prison – no big deal!)  It goes on. If Pasulka was really bad, he would have been caught much earlier.  He’s 67 and jail will hurt the taxpayers.  He hasn’t raped since he was arrested, so that proves he is not a threat.

What Pasulka’s Friends And Family Had To Say:

Pasulka had several witnesses speak on his behalf.  His brother, a priest – Father Thomas Walsh, former client, a lawyer, and someone from the half-way house he was in before jail.  All said basically the same thing: Pasulka’s a great guy. Volunteers for numerous causes since he was a child – often recruiting others to help with projects.  Well respected.  Mentor to many.  Saved children from evil as a GAL – not being paid what worth because he cared. (Ignore the sex for custody part of being a GAL.) Always worked, even as a child (paper route) and all through school. Poor family (never mind there were 13 kids in the family and they went to Catholic school – pretty damn big expense – family was not poor. I actually heard about coal miner and share cropper as part of the family background – bullshit). Multiple generations of alcoholics, so it was in his genes and not his fault crap. And if a witness thought Pasulka should be punished, it should only be for the minimum 4 year.

What Pasulka Had To Say:

Pasulka spoke on his own behalf.  More of the same crap.  I’m a great guy and have helped many

What the Judge Had To Say:

It is worth noting that the judge pointed out that not once did Pasulka show remorse or accept responsibility. And somewhere in the trial a witness testified that Pasulka bragged of his sexual prowess.

Sentencing:

-7 years. For criminal sexual assault, he has to serve at least 85% of the sentence. And he gets 188 days for time served while waiting for trial.

-Registered Sexual Offender for life and must submit DNA.

-Upon release, Mandatory Supervised Release (parole) of 3 years to life at the discretion of the Dept. of Corrections.

Future:

I am sure he will look to appeal.
